Dip A Day December Challenge

30th November, 2016

Swimmer and writer Ella Foote has invented her own Dip A Day December Challenge

“It has been a rough year for many,'” says Ella. “Most people I know have lost a friend, a hero or family. Some of my closest friends are battling debt, depression, disease and disaster. I wish I could find a way to help them all. Although we can’t compare our problems, we can all agree that we all have homes to return to each day and the support of those around us, unlike the homeless in the UK. So this year I plan to do a dip every day in December to raise money and awareness for Crisis UK.

“31 days and 31 dips, logistically challenging as I often go to work in the dark and return home in the dark, water temperatures are low and the air temperature is dropping – but this isn’t even close to what the homeless are challenged with every day.

“I would love to raise £691.92 as a minimum, which would give a Crisis at Christmas place to 31 people this Christmas, one for each dip I do!”

The £22.32 Crisis at Christmas place provides:
– Welcoming support from people who really care.
– A chance to shower, freshen up and get clean clothes.
– Three nutritious hot meals including Christmas dinner.
– A health check and treatment from a doctor, optician and dentist.
– An introduction to Crisis’ year-round services for training and support for the future.
