End of Summer Swim Festival in Brighton

19th September, 2019

Sea Lanes Brighton has organised a festival of swimming-related activities in Brighton on Saturday 28 September.

The End of Summer Swim Festival promises a day of interactive talks and taster sessions, plus the chance to pick up some bargains from leading swimwear and adventure holiday brands.

OSS’ press officer and Swim Champ Ella Foote hosts the programme of talks, which include sessions on body image, swimming adventures and improving technique. OSS Medical Advisor & Consultant Anaesthetist Dr Mark Harper will take part in a session on the risks and magic of cold water swimming.

Activities include a guided sea swim, endless pool taster sessions and Aufguss sauna sessions.

Rosie Cook, Founder of swimwear brand Deakin & Blue said: “I’m delighted to be joining award winning writer Alex Heminsley, women’s swimming advocate Ali Gartland and intrepid swim explorer Ella Foote for a discussion about the role of body image in swimming (taking place at midday). In the wake of Sarah Thomas’ impressive four-way swim across the channel this week, it feels very appropriate to be celebrating the achievements in the sport, while asking ourselves what more we can and should be doing to improve access to and visibility of swimming”.

The festival is free, although there may be extra charges for some activities such as the sauna. Find out more and register via Event Brite.
