Kari Furre – A Mountain Journal Short

A love of long distance swimming and sense of mortality prompted Kari to swim the length of Windermere

Kari Furre is a Devon based artist, swimmer and swimming teacher, with a particular love of a peaceful swimming stroke and long distance swimming.

In May 2016 she swam the ten and a half mile length of Windermere in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards (she was one of the early gold Duke of Edinburgh Award girl). She continues to be inspired by her natural surroundings, particularly when it comes to water.

Kari is an OSS director.
