Kickstarter for Eyes as Big as Plates photography book
25th February, 2020
Eyes as Big as Plates is a photography series exploring people’s relationship with nature.
The ongoing project between Finnish-Norwegian artist duo Riitta Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth consists of images of more than one hundred older people from 15 countries. The Kickstarter campaign is to fund a book of photographs from the project, following the success of the first volume.
Each image in the series shows a solitary figure in a landscape, dressed in elements from their surroundings created in collaboration with the artists. The subjects in this book include retired wrestling coaches, fishermen, zoologists, Sami reindeer herders, Aboriginal Uncles, plumbers, kantele players, housewives, wild boar hunters, surfers and ninety-year-old parachutists.
Supporters are offered the usual range of benefits such as postcards and hardcopy first editions of the book.
- Eyes as Big as Plates Kickstarter campaign runs until March 15.
