Good news for Brynaman Lido

17th February, 2020

The community group campaigning to restore Brynaman Lido moved a step closer to realising its dream last week when the local council confirmed it will pass ownership of the lido to the group.

The open air pool was built in the 1920s by the local community, but closed in 2010 when Carmarthenshire County Council was unable to pay for repairs. A local group has been working to bring the lido back into use since then and has recently published a business plan and feasibility study, demonstrating how it would be possible.

The council will carry out an asset transfer to Brynaman Lido Limited, which will allow the group to move onto the next stage of the restoration project and begin fundraising.

To get involved, follow the group on Facebook or Twitter or visit the Brynaman Lido website for more information.
